Perhaps it is no accident that HRH Prince of Wales has purchased a property not far from Y Neuadd in a village near Llandovery. The area is packed with interesting landscape, places to visit and activities in which to indulge.
 Llandovery was once an important drovers town
where drovers congregated with their livestock on the way to markets
in England. The town square and its impressive clock tower hosts a
covered marketplace.
Llandovery today is the ideal touring centre, a
bustling market town on the A40, 30 minutes from the M4, lying
between the rugged scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park and
the gentler Upper Tywi valley, last retreat of the red kite.
Llandovery is a natural gateway to the west via Carmarthen, Lampeter
and to Mid Wales over the Sugerloaf pass. In and around the town are
award winning restaurants and recreation facilities including golf.

In Llandovery you can get on the Heart of Wales
Railway Line, one of the UK'S finest rail journeys, and take a

Aberglasney House and Gardens
With it's mysterious structures splendidly restored a
visit to this historic garden is an experience not to be missed.
Built of dressed stone surrounded by gardens of orchards, vineyards,
large oak trees and greatest feature of the garden is the
extraordinary Yew tunnel dating from the early 18th century (as seen
in the B.B.C. series Aberglasney a garden lost in time).
Dan-Yr-Ogof national showcaves
The caves are one of the top visitor attractions, and
is the most spectacular showcaves complex in Northern Europe. As well
as the 3 caves there is the Dinosaur park, Shire Horse centre,
adventure playground and Jurassic karting track. A great day out for
all the family.
The Brecon Beacons
Offers a wide range of outdoor activities and leisure
pursuits. A trek to the high ground of Pen-Y-Fan a favorite for the
Army. Enjoy the remoteness of the Black mountain or a pony trek
across the Beacons following some of the ancient bridleways that
meander through the black mountains. Sailing on Llangorse lake or
cruising along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal. For the more
adventurous why not try climbing or caving. Or why don't you just get
on your bike?.
National Botanic Garden of Wales
The great glasshouse is the spectacular focal point of
the gardens. The largest single span glasshouse in the world. Inside
is a perfect Mediterranean landscape in miniature. It is home for
10,000 plants, numbering 1,000 species.
